SPMC Shoreline Improvements - PW761

This project will mitigate shoreline erosion risk caused by a historical concrete boat ramp at the Shannon Point Marine Center and ensure the seawater intake pipes are secure.

SECTION 00 11 00 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID

Western Washington University is seeking proposals for the following project:

SPMC Shoreline Improvements, PW761, a project involving an intertidal concrete boat ramp removal, marine shoreline excavation, habitat impact mitigation planting, and marine pipe relocation. In-water work to be done in the dry, during daylight hours between October 2, 2022 - February 16, 2023, with preference within October 2022. Planting work to be done after in-water work with preference within October or November 2022. The Architect/Engineer’s estimate: $50,000. In accordance with RCW 39.04.320 this project requires a minimum 15% Apprenticeship Participation for projects with an estimated maximum allowable construction cost (MACC) of one million dollars or more.

MWBE: Western Washington University is committed to providing the maximum practicable opportunity for participation by minority and women-owned businesses (MWBE) in public works. Voluntary goals for this project have been established as 10% MBE and 6% WBE. Participation may be either on a direct basis in response to this invitation to bid, or as a subcontractor or supplier. However, no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be required as a condition for receiving an award, and bids will not be rejected or considered non-responsive if they do not include MWBE participation. Pre-bid Conference will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Shannon Point Marine Center shoreline, 1900 Shannon Point Rd #4042, Anacortes, WA 98221. This meeting should be attended by a representative qualified to comprehend the contract documents for this project and the probable or possible difficulties and opportunities this project represents.
